This patinated bronze bust of a gladiator is cast from a model from his full figure and is on a grey/green and amethyst mottled marble base.

Constant Ambroise Roux was awarded the Prix de Rome in 1894 and went on to win medals in 1898, 1900, 1902, 1911 and the Medal of Honour in 1930. He was awarded the Chevalier Legion d'Honneur in 1923.
